![]() Let's rewind a bit Goku put the responsibility of fighting cell on a child. During the cell games Goku dies and chooses not to come back because he seemed to attract trouble to earth. When he get's up he get's Gohan and spends time with him(via training) and even when they get out his spends all the down time with Gohan just chillin. He get's the heart virus and is out of commission again. And maybe that's part of the reason why people view Goku the way they do. ![]() ![]() But even once he got back, he spent time with Gohan when they were preparing for the Androids, but it was all off screen. Now when they wanted to bring Goku back to earth and wanted to stay on yardrats for a year that's probably the first point you got. Even on namek he was put out if commission and couldn't be there in the main fight in it's entirety. Pattern being most of the time Goku was out of commission preventing him from being around. Gohan Bulma and Krillin left without Goku and Once, Goku could leave he went after them. Goku was put through the meat grinder in the sayian saga to end up being put in a basically a full body cast. Goku simply wasn't there and there were factors outside of his control. So piccolo took it upon himself to take Gohan under his wing because Goku was dead.įast foward ( and I'm talking about teenaged mutant turtles) and Goku is wished back to life he hustles back to the earth as fast as he could yo find that the most of the Z warriors are dead piccolo sacrificed himself for Gohan. Goku teams up with his arch nemesis to fight his brother they barely win with Goku sacrificing his life to beat his brother. Goku's much stronger at the time brother snaps Goku's shit up real quick and kidnaps his Son. Goku at the beginning of Z back when he living with chichi on a consistent basis was always with Gohan we can assume because we don't have reason to disbelieve.
